What You Will Do:
The Dining Room Supervisor has a pivotal role responsible for the efficient operation of the dining area. Leading the front-of-house staff, this position ensures exceptional customer service, maintaining a positive dining experience. Key responsibilities include staff management, customer service, and collaboration with kitchen and bar staff. The role may involve inventory management, cleanliness, and strategies for enhanced customer satisfaction. Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills are essential.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Recruit, train, and supervise front-of-house staff.
- Schedule and manage staff shifts for proper coverage.
- Ensure high standards of customer service and address concerns promptly.
- Oversee setup and maintenance of the dining area for optimal guest experience.
- Collaborate with kitchen and bar staff for seamless coordination.
- Conduct training sessions for staff development.
- Provide feedback and support professional growth.
- Facilitate communication between front-of-house and back-of-house teams.
- Monitor and manage inventory of dining room supplies.
- Ensure food and beverage presentation meets standards.
- Address issues related to quality, service, or cleanliness promptly.
- Interact with guests, handle feedback, and enhance customer satisfaction.
- Implement strategies for overall guest experience improvement.
- Enforce health and safety standards in the dining environment.
- Assist in monitoring budgets and controlling costs.
- Contribute to revenue generation through upselling and promotions.
- Coordinate special events, private parties, and reservations.
- Ensure smooth execution of events within the dining area.
- Enforce restaurant policies and uphold legal and regulatory compliance.
- Resolve issues during service promptly and diplomatically.
- Collaborate with the management team to find solutions to operational challenges.
- Order and maintain liquor inventories.
- Maintain menu and other price changes for food and service items in alignment with the overall strategy.
- Other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- This position falls under the direct supervision of the Executive Chef but is expected to perform independently and exercise good judgment. This position supervises, directs, and reviews the work of other employees and participates in performance and disciplinary actions.
- Highschool diploma or GED
- Proven experience in dining management
- Active Food Safety Supervisor certification
- Two years of experience leading teams with high service standards
- Food supervisor and TABC certification
