What You Will Do:
As a Line Cook in our Dining Services department, you play a crucial role in creating delightful culinary experiences for our guests. Responsible for executing menu items with precision and efficiency, you contribute to the overall success of our kitchen operations. Under the guidance of the Sous Chef, you'll work in a dynamic environment, showcasing your culinary skills and dedication to maintaining high-quality standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Execute food preparation tasks according to established recipes and presentation standards.
- Collaborate with kitchen team members to ensure efficient workflow during peak hours.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workstations and equipment.
- Monitor and replenish food supplies to meet demand during service.
- Adhere to safety and sanitation regulations in handling food and kitchen equipment.
- Assist in the development of daily specials and contributed to menu innovation.
- Ensure proper storage and rotation of food items to minimize waste.
- Communicate effectively with the Sous Chef and kitchen team to meet service goals.
- Uphold a high standard of food quality and presentation on each plate.
- Participate in training sessions to enhance culinary skills and stay updated on menu changes.
- Other duties as assigned
Supervisory Responsibilities:
The position falls under the direct supervision of the Sous Chef. The position is not required to supervise or direct other associates
Why You Are Qualified:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Culinary degree or relevant certification is a plus.
- Previous experience as a Line Cook or in a similar culinary role.
- Food safety and TABC certification.
Knowledge Skill and Abilities:
- Solid understanding of culinary techniques and food safety.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing kitchen priorities.
- Proficiency in basic cooking techniques and knife skills.
- Familiarity with kitchen equipment and appliances.
- Knowledge of food preparation and presentation.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Manual dexterity for handling kitchen tools, utensils, and equipment.
- Visual acuity for assessing food quality and presentation.
